The Red WheeliesTheir scooters may only go at a brisk walking pace but when you have eight of them all zooming around in a small car park and in time with music it's not that easy. The Red Wheelies are a collection of eight ladies all suffering with multiple sclerosis and they are the World's only mobility scooter formation display team. Their aims are to raise positive awareness of MS along with much needed cash for a new Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre in Canterbury, South East England and off course they have a lot of fun on the way. MS can be a very isolating condition and sufferers often withdraw from social activities but whilst MS holds them back in so many ways, their scooters give them independence and the formation team provides the group with a real purpose and belonging whilst filling them with a great deal of pride. |
