CURRENTLY PLAYING

Sumo warriors, martial arts specialists and a chef were among competitors at the first World Gravy Wrestling Championship, organised as part of Pennine Lancashire Festival of Food and Culture. Gravy is normally associated as the key ingredient of any Sunday roast, but it took centre stage in a major way at this competition, much to the delight of the crowd. After 40 minutes of gruelling grappling in the cold mix of meat juices, chopped up vegetables and cornflour, local lad Ian Marsden and Martin Skipper emerged world champions.
