DVD - Ironing under the Sky - The Story of ..... Extreme Ironing

Extreme Ironing started in 1997 in the garden of Phil Shaw, who wanted to go out on an evening's rock climbing but had a pile of ironing to do. He decided to combine the two activities into a new sport; Extreme Ironing.

 

Now the sport is a global phenomenon, with hundreds of 'ironists' from around 20 nations taking their ironing outside, where it belongs. In 2002 the Extreme Ironing Bureau and its sister office in Germany organised the Inaugural World Championships and a new sport was born!

It explores every aspect of the sport including its history, public reaction and future growth. The DVD features footage of the first ever Extreme Ironing World Championships held in Munich and the results of the Rowenta Trophy photo competition to find the most Extreme ironist in the world.
